What Do You Imagine

What do you imagine
imagination is
as you distance yourself
from actually connecting
to your own fantastical needs,
relying on the base
instincts already thought of,
and so cleverly packaged,
and branded,
with Hi-Fi that is it's own
cutting edge
of advancing.

And you think
you're paying upfront
the price of not
thinking you can
imagine anything
but the quick
fix to the itch
that off the shelf keeps you coming
back for without
having to look forward at all.

But if you've been edged
on the sharp line
of imagining everything
imaginable, knowing too far
is a cut you have to
risk the recovery for.
Always wondering.
Always nearly lost and
always only nearly
found, because finding
changes everything all over
again. And you must
turn.

The funny thing
is most of what can be
found finds you
and gobsmacks a fusion
of you into it
and it into who
knows what you will be.
For you soon will be
yearning for more
turning. But the joke
you see is not
what you now see
as something new,
but the question
of its previous existence.

So what
do you tune into
when you think you're imagining
something more fantastic
than the spectacular realization itself
that infinite potential has already
made it possible, and maybe
you and it create
each other simultaneously.
Or you were already created
so many times before
by so many other imaginations
wishing something
from you, and making
the someone
who couldn't begin to know,
that the wished for
could find you.

Whos to say
as you continue to play
the children's game
of making something up
and believing it. If
it's believable at all of course.
And maybe that's all
you need to add. That extra
bit of believability,
however you might entangle it.
To then imagine
so many others turning
with you, but
with their own twist
of yearning.

Do you think
that turn has already
reimagined what a better you
could turn out to be?
Do you want to leave it
only to the imagination
of others?
